{"id":549,"date":"2022-07-22T10:00:44","date_gmt":"2022-07-22T08:00:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/carotenutolex.com\/?p=549"},"modified":"2022-07-05T13:05:00","modified_gmt":"2022-07-05T11:05:00","slug":"reform-of-the-judicial-system-and-the-superior-council-of-the-judiciary","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/carotenutolex.com\/en\/publications\/news\/reform-of-the-judicial-system-and-the-superior-council-of-the-judiciary\/","title":{"rendered":"Reform of the judicial system and the Superior Council of the Judiciary"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify\">A law on the reform of the judicial system was recently published, which contains provisions on organisational and disciplinary matters, eligibility and reinstatement of judges, as well as on the establishment and functioning of the SCJ.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Among the most relevant novelties, it is worth mentioning:<\/p>\n<ol style=\"list-style-type: lower-alpha\">\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\">revision of the criteria for assigning managerial positions, reform of the procedures for approving the organisational tables of judicial offices, as well as of the procedures for assessing the professionalism of judges also through the establishment of\u00a0 assessment file;<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\">the system for electing judges, assigning government positions and the redeployment at the end of each term of office; and<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify\">the change from judicial to prosecutorial functions, which may be made only once in the course of a career within ten years from the first assignment of functions.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\"><em>Law no. 71 of 17 June 2022 (published in the Official Gazette on 20 June 2022 no. 142)<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A law on the reform of the judicial system was recently published, which contains provisions on organisational and disciplinary matters, eligibility and reinstatement of judges, as well as on the&hellip;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":154,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[20],"tags":[27],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO Premium plugin v23.1 (Yoast SEO v23.1) -
