In view of the expiry of the Brexit transition period, EBA has reminded to financial institutions that in order to continue to provide services in the EU, they must finalise the full execution of their contingency plans in accordance with the conditions agreed with the NCAs of the Member States, where they intend to operate, as well as ensure adequate communication to their client regarding thy afore-said plans and possible changes.
In Italy, the Bank of Italy, CONSOB and IVASS have pointed out that UK intermediaries must provide Italian clients with updated information on the continuation (or not) of their activity in Italy, as well as on the consequences thereof on existing relationships. In the absence of such communication, Italian NCAs recommend clients of UK intermediaries to contact the latter in order to understand how proceed further.
